I want to know, if there is any documentation available for hardware sizing required for an retail implementation for users ranging from 250 to 300.
I think that you can use the benchmark for AX2012 in a retail environment. Dont know if you will find another source of information about it!

Thanks for the information, i shall go through it, OK, i am concentrating more onhardware requirements , however i am completely new to this and retail although i have worked in Ax for quite a some time, i have not done hardware sizing., but what i basically understand is, hardware requirement, is completely dependent on number of licences customer is willing to purchase. Can you give me some pointers where i can start from?
I am working on below points like
1. Is it Recommended to have different server for SSRS reporting services.
2. a different server for SSAS.
3. different server for file server(document management)
4. if they have say some 20 companies how to identify how many AOSes is required? for say 300 users base?
5. There should be a separate Batch server?
any help on this regard would be great.
Yes, it is recomended to have a different server for SSRS!
About the number of AOS Servers, when i had the opportunity to ask Microsoft about this, they told me that "it depends on the hardware configuration.... but you should consider 80 user per AOS."
And yes you should have different server for batch server!
About file server, when those files are really importante for the costumer, i use the DFS Windows Role, so for this it is necessary, better, to use different servers.
Is there someone else who worked with Retail with this number of users which can give us some more tips?!

I just read in net retail licencing work different than that of std dynamics AX.2012.
Any idea on scenario where 5 AOSes connecting to the same DB? do we need licences for each of these connections?
Yes, you will need 01 licence for each AOS you have!
