I have been trying for the past few weeks to gather information on a effective path to break into the world of becoming either a microsoft Dynamics Nav implementer or a Microsoft Dynamics AX implementer. I have no experience in either
I figure the best place to gather credible information is at the source, so here goes:
1. Since no experience in either products (microsoft Dynamics Nav or Microsoft Dynamics AX) which would be your recommendation?
2. Are there formal educational institutions that provide a well rounded course on this to get a beginner started?
3. What would be your recommendation of a part forward for someone like myself who is trying to eventual become an implementer.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated

1 - I am a bit bias, but I would recommend you look into Microsoft Dynamics AX. But this depends on the target audience you are trying to reach. Also cost should be a factor (consider not just the licensing and hardware cost but also the time you plan to invest). These are very important factors to consider. Also the market share you are interested (is it Retail, Production, HR etc.).
2 - What do you mean by Implementing. Are you thinking of becoming a Developer, a Consultant or do you plan to open a whole Datacenter? For Developers and Consultants there are some Certifications you can pass that would grately improve you chances of getting a job. Look up the Microsoft Solution Specialist exams for Dynamics AX 2012 here http://goo.gl/cKOYX . Here you can look for courses and more detailed information http://goo.gl/CSeKu .
3 - As I said on point 2 it depends on what exactly you mean by Implementing, but a good advice is always 'start working'. Try and get a job somewhere as a consultant or a developer, and try to get an idea of what exactly dynamics ax/nav is. Maybe look over some test cases, or find some free ebooks. For development I can recommend Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Development Cookbook by Mindaugas Pocius.
Thanks for taking the time to respond Dick, I will look into your suggestions.
Hi Pavel, greatly appreciate your response. In this case the term implementer would be referring to a consultant.
I will be taking a look at all your suggestions starting with the websites you provided.
Thanks again for taking the time to respond
