I need to pass parameters to command line of ax32.exe.
i.e : I need to login to ax with different user as default (current windows login user).
How can I do that?
You have two options to start AX-Client ax32.exe with different-user
1) Execute “runas.exe” command utility (pass username and ax32.exe as parameters)
2) Hold-Shift and Right-Click on ax32.exe, click popup-option “Run as different user” and enter user/password start AX with different-user
I have checked this out, but it doesn't work.
(What exactly I write: runas.exe ...?
I did hold-shift and right-click etc. I didn't find "run as different user".
I preffer something like solution 1.
BTW - I need a generic way to pass username and ax32.exe as parameters).
The item in context menu is not available in all versions of Windows.
About runas, you could find the answer yourself - simply call runas (without parameters) from a command line window (cmd or powershell). It will show all possible parameters, their description and examples.
One possible usage is simply runas user:mydomain\myuser "c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Client\Bin\ax32.exe"
If using PowerShell, you may also look at Start-Process cmdlet (with parameter -Credential (Get-Credential)).
