I am looking at the data upgrade process from Ax 2009 to Ax 2012 Retail.
Can anyone explain where in the process the RetailInventTable gets populated. I have tried look at the Ax 2009 Retail pre upgrade xpo and in Ax 2012 retail and I havent been able to establish at what point records in RetailInventTable will be created.
Hi Ian - the way that retail tables get their data passed in isn't as obvious as some of our other tables because we changed all of the names along the way. That particular table comes from the RBOInventTable, and the way that it gets mapped to the new RetailInventTable is based on the Table ID itself. The table ID of the RBOInventTable is the same as the ID and Legacy ID of the AX 2012 RetailInventTable.
So the contents of that table should be populated as part of the bulk copy process.
However, if for some reason, the table ID of your AX 2009 environment was changed to something other than 17294 (either through some merge of products or other means) then a customization would be needed to handle the mapping.
Sorry for the delay in responding on this one - it took a bit to figure out how it was getting mapped as it wasn't a typical situation, and I haven't used our Retail product before to know the original tables very well.
