I am currently implmenting AX 2012 R2 Retail module and trying to configure the discount for Buy1get1 scenario, where I have 2 items rung up, the first item need to ring @ full price the second Item of same price needs to ring up free, then if you purchase a 3rd of the same Item it needs to ring at regular price and so on. We have been able to get this to work when we use 2 different items but not with we use the same item. Does anyone have any ideas on how to cofigure this scenario?

You can use mix&match discount available from Retail->Common->Pricing and discounts.
Set discount type to Line spec.
Create 2 mix&match line discount groups:
Group 1 for the item that sells for full price. Set 'Discount %' to 0 for this line
Group 2 for the item that sells for free. Set 'Deal price' to 0 for this line
Activate the discount, run N-1020 Discounts job, restart POS application and test.
