Installing EP for AX2012 R2: "Microsoft SharePoint 2010 is not installed or running"

This question is answered

All -- Trying to install Enterprise Portal on a dedicated web server, and getting the following error when trying to specify the SharePoint site:

"Microsoft SharePoint 2010 is not installed or running. Please run the prerequisite utility for more information. Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object"

SharePoint 2010 is definitely installed, accessible, and supposedly healthy. I've even tried reinstalling SharePoint from the ground up, with no luck. Any thoughts?

  • One more thing you can try.

Stop the other web application from your IIS, leave just the Sharepoint - 80 started and try to install again.

  • And no, there are no warnings or errors on the prereq util.

  • Is your SharePoint web site using port 80? Is the AOS service account able to access SharePoint web site?

  • Hi fsilva- Yes, SharePoint is running on port 80. Initially I just had the AOS service account as a farm admin, but just added it to the actual site, with no luck.

  • Please check the setup logs and see if they can give you any clues. I got the same error myself, but I have not got around to investigate it thoroughly myself. :-)

  • Looks like something else in IIS was holding it up. I stopped all sites except for SharePoint and Central Admin, and install went through.

  • Unfortunatelly i could not find the reason of this problem.

Now you can start your other IIS sites!
