  • Standard AX provideds three types of Posting Layers for managing various types of postings.

e.g. In India depreciation is charged at two rates as per Companies Act and Income Tax Act. But Depreciation as per Companies Act becomes part of your books and Depreciation as per Income Tax Act is calculated for Income Tax calculation purpose only.

Operation Layer can be used for passing adjustments every month for MIS Purpose.

  • Raul- basically the account controller here in Mexico City reverse a journal entry using a TAX journal, and he wants to see the results in trial balance report, but the report shows the balance as the tax journal had never been posted.

not sure but I'm thinking that this report never show the TAX layer transactions

  • When running the Detailed trial balance or Summary trial balance (AX2012 R2) and Trial balance (AX2012 FP1) there is a dialog field "Posting Layer". If you set the value of this field on "Total" it will show Current + Operations + Tax amounts.
