hi support,

please help me, i am struggling to understand how the retail store connect must be installed. i read the manuals  but its all too vague.

we have the following setup: 2 pc's connecting to each other. 

pc 1: aos, retail hq

pc 2: store, pos retail

i install retail store connect on pc 1

and pc 2. i configured retail store connect on pc 1 with details of pc 1.

when i run the scheduler job, firstly the retail store connect message form is empty but in the message database there is info but the destination server is pc 1. how do i get the data to pc 2.

    Hi Anisha,

    You need to install the retail store connect only on PC 1.After installation you need to configure the Retail Store connect in the Retail Scheduler of AX for Retail and then you need to create profiles of AX and POS respectively.

    Yes, in that case data will move smoothly at POS.

    I did as you suggested, but I get the error 12288: Cannot connect to Store Connect.

    I changed the port number to 16751 and restarted the machine, the error still appears. What should I do now?

    Try configure and test your retail store connect profile.

    The Data Client component of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 cannot connect to Retail Store Connect. This error occurs when the Retail Store Connect service is not running, when the Data Client is trying to connect to a service that does not exist or does not have a correct IP address associated with it, or when the Data Client is trying to connect to Retail Store Connect on an invalid TCP/IP port.

    Possible resolutions

     Start the Retail Store Connect service.

     Confirm that the Retail Store Connect service name has an IP address associated with it. This can be checked from the command prompt by typing ping <Retail Store Connect computer name>). If the service name does not respond to a ping command, you must reconfigure your DNS server or Hosts file so that the service name is associated with the correct IP address.

     Verify that the port numbers match in Retail Store Connect Settings and in the Retail Store Connect profile.

     Verify that IPsec (if enabled) or the firewall is configured correctly. One way to verify this is to connect to the Retail Store Connect port using telnet.

    in this u need to have two retail store connect, one in each machine, create a store db profile and attach that with pc 2 rsc.

    in  distribution location for store one set rsc 2. and in AOS profile set RSC1 and in default desitrubution location set aos profile .

    check ur default include list and make sure store location is added in.

    Hi

     I have Installed Retail Store Connect , Retail Head Quarters and Retail POS in  one system only.I have Imported Retail Demo Data.When i am Testing the Connection with Retail Store Connect in Distribution Location Form in Retail Schedule Module  by giving Connection string, I am getting Error 12288 , An Error Occurred while Connecting to Retail Store Connect.Then i checked the Service of Retail Store Connect and it is Running.In Partner Source it is mentioned that Connection String Complexity is reduced in AX Retail R2 Refresh with AOS, Database and Retail Store Connect Profiles.Here i am facing challenge in Finding AX Retail R2 Refresh setup file and i am doubtful in Upgrading to R2 Refesh.Please help me out in cracking these challenges.

    try to use 'telnet' in command line to check if your port is available before you use that port.

    I had the same problem as yours before, because the port 16750 was not available. After changing the port to 2718, I could connect. Please try it.
