In just a few days, we finally head to Atlanta.  For those of you who, like I,  are from someplace that had a winter that was harsher than normal or has had spring start with days with highs that are regularly 20 degrees below normal, you are not only looking forward to Convergence but you are also looking forward to temperatures in the 70s, grass, leaves and flowers.

If you haven't already, it is time to prepare for Convergence.  Here are some of the tips from previous blog entries that bear repeating:

  • Use the Schedule Builder to plan which sessions you want to attend.
  • Review the list of exhibitors to identify those you want to be sure to find in the Expo. The Expo hall is huge so you are likely to miss a vendor you may benefit from talking to if you don't plan ahead.
  • If you expect to meet an associate during a break, at the Expo or for a meal, plan a meeting place ahead of time. It is very hard to spot people when the attendees are moving from place to place and it can be difficult to hear cell phones above the din of the crowd.
  • Carry business cards throughout the event. Presenters are often willing to take your card and provide additional information after the session and you will want a quick way to share contact information with all of those you meet networking throughout the conference.
  • Even if you are attending the Convergence with others you work with, make a point of networking with others. Networking is rated as one of the top benefits of attending.
  • Get to sessions early, the most popular sessions will fill up.
  • Wear comfortable shoes; you will be doing lots of walking.

While at Convergence, please take the time to complete evaluation forms for the sessions you attend and the event as a whole.  The evals are used to refine Convergence so next year's event does a better job of meeting your needs in every way; from content to logistics.

See you soon!
