Letter by Kirill Tatarinov, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Business Solutions, announcing Hal Howard's recent promotion to Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Dynamics ERP R&D:
"I am very pleased to announce the promotion of Hal Howard to Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Dynamics ERP R&D.
Hal is a 15 year Microsoft veteran who has proven to be a highly scalable and balanced leader - repeatedly demonstrating an ability to deliver product, lead talent, and add value to customers, partners, and the overall Microsoft business. From his first role as a Lead SDET in Exchange, to being the lead in the Passport Group, to joining Dynamics in 2003, Hal has continuously demonstrated his passion for leading, innovation and technology. Today, Hal is the leader of Dynamics ERP, responsible for the development of our portfolio of ERP products (AX, NAV, GP, SL) in a highly distributed organization. The latest release of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 was recognized as the only leader in mid-market ERP by the Gartner Group serving as a testament of a great work our ERP team has been doing. Hal was one of the many leaders tested this past year relative to the economic conditions and the impact that had on our people. Hal rose to the occasion and demonstrated that he can lead people through some of the most challenging of times and do so successfully in a very complex internal and external environment. He has deep insight into his talent and that transcends to other functional areas as well. Hal is a true industry expert in ERP systems and business applications. He has been a key player in shaping the Dynamics strategy as he understands partner needs, market trends, and actively engages with customers on how Dynamics solutions can improve their business. Hal has been very successful in leading recruiting events to add partners to the ecosystem for Dynamics and Microsoft. He continues to be an active Executive sponsor for several of our largest partners and customers working directly with them to improve their business results. Hal’s promotion highlights the great work that he has accomplished as well as the complexity and impact of the work being done by the Dynamics business overall. Hal’s ability to understand and integrate the complex technical, organizational, and business elements of the equation and quickly make things happen is a valuable asset to Microsoft. I am proud of the leader Hal has become and look forward to his continued contributions to Microsoft. Please join me in congratulating Hal on this well-deserved promotion!"
