Using a Nurit 2085

The Nurit 2085 is a popular credit card terminal, known for its reliability, features, ease of use and functionality. This credit card terminal is compact and flexible, also customizable, to make for increased efficiency. The 4 soft keys and 4 hot keys, along with an in-built printer, make for speed and efficiency.

Sometimes, for reasons of their own, processors insist that a merchant must upgrade his credit card terminal. A change makes sense if your terminal has phased out and is no longer supported, but terminals such as Nurit 2085 are still popular and well supported and there is no reason why you must change. Processors may ask you to upgrade to a more expensive terminal even if it is not necessary.

This is why a Nurit 2085 does not need to be changed or upgraded: The Nurit credit card processing terminals available currently work on an operationg system called the Nurit Operating System (NOS), which exists in two versions- NOS 6 and NOS 7. While all latest terminals come equipped with NOS 7, the older batch with NOS 6 also remains functional. Only certain business types may specifically require a particular version of NOS for total compatibility. Even in this case, the need for a change does not arise because it is possible to change the NOS version on a Nurit Terminal, and all it entails is a simple download!

Do make note of the exceptions. One version of Nurit 2085 is not upgradeable. The model number is difficult to trace as not many pieces of that terminal are currently in use. This Nurit 2085 model cannot be upgraded to the recent NOS 6 or NOS 7 operating systems, and any merchant using this model will certainly have to make a change. As already mentioned, this model is rare to find. Other than the case already mentioned, there seems no plausible cause for processors phasing out Nurit 2085.

There is no reason why Nurit 2085 won’t work perfectly for at least the nest few years, if not more. In fact, 2085 remains the model recommended by experts for entry-level needs, and is for the same reason supported by most processors. So, if your processor recommends or suggests you to get another terminal instead of using Nurit 2085, you must ask questions to understand why the upgrade is necessary. After all, why spend money to replace a credit card terminal that works perfectly fine?
