Coming May 31: New features within the Microsoft Dynamics Community

The Microsoft Dynamics Community Team has been busy adding new features designed to help maximize your Microsoft Dynamics Community experience. Following is a sneak peak of what’s in store.

New Features:

The following features will be available to all Community members:

  • Microsoft Dynamics Online Connect
The first thing you will notice is the new Microsoft Dynamics Online Connect gadget that appears on the right hand side of all the Community home pages. This new gadget provides you with the latest news, articles, blog posts, product training, E-Learning and product support. If you are on a current Microsoft Dynamics service plan the content will be customized for you based on your CustomerSource or PartnerSource profile after signing in to the Community Web site

  • Customizable Business Card
You will be able to customize the style of your Business Card. Put your creativity to work by uploading your company logo, customizing the color and layout of your community business card. The business card is a great way to introduce yourself to other Community members and stay in touch with people you meet through the Community or at events you attend.

  • MVP badge

Our Microsoft Dynamics MVPs (Most Valuable Professionals) provide a vast amount of product knowledge to the Community. We have created a MVP badge icon so you can instantly recognize when an MVP has responded to a forum question.

Additional Features for members on a Current Microsoft Dynamics Service Plan:

In addition to the above mentioned features, the following features will be available to Community members with a current service plan in place. If you have questions about your existing service plan or are interested in learning more about the available service plans, please contact your Microsoft Dynamics Partner or mbsservo@microsoft.com.

  • Company Organization Page
You can now custom build a company home page which represents your organization, and it will be searchable by all search engines. With your new organization page, you can also upload your company logo and display members of your organization who have a profile set up in the Microsoft Dynamics Community. Members of your organization that are not registered in CustomerSource can request that your organization’s admin add them to CustomerSource. To learn how to set up your company organization page Click Here.

  • Community Registration
Community Registration will become quicker and easier. When you are setting up a profile within the Community and you are using your Live ID which is associated to your company’s CustomerSource or PartnerSource account, your profile information will automatically be entered for you.

  • Internet Lead Capture (ILC)
The Internet Lead Capture capability will allow you to create a custom lead capture page, which we host for you. You can then use the URL of that page on your own web pages, e-mail communications, and the contact us url in your organization profile. This gives potential customers and Community members the ability to contact your business by filling out a short questionnaire. They simply fill out the fields that you’ve customized, and once they have completed the questionnaire, the information will be exported to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and your lead capture will show on your Community Networking home page as a lead.

If you have questions about your existing service plan or are interested in learning more about the available service plans, please contact your Microsoft Dynamics Partner or mbsservo@microsoft.com.

As always, we’re interested in your feedback on these new features and enhancements. Please contact us at dlcommed@microsoft.com with your comments or questions. Your input helps us to provide functionality and content that’s valuable to you and others in the Community.

Thank you for your continued participation in the Microsoft Dynamics Community and all related tools and functionality it offers.

Sincerely

The Microsoft Dynamics Community Team
