Sharjah Museums Department Deploys Microsoft Dynamics ERP with Help of ITQAN

A few stories from the Gulf region and Middle East as a whole have been profiled here on The Edge. I remember on my first trip to Dubai a number of different people down there telling me how they used Microsoft Dynamics GP and NAV and that they really liked the solutions. It was great then to see the following story come across Twitter this morning highlighting Sharjah Museums Department (SMD) deployment of Microsoft Dynamics GP and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server Portal from leading systems integrator ITQAN Al-Bawardi Computers.

Established in 2006 by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the Sharjah Museums Department aims to promote the emirates rich legacy of arts, heritage and culture. Manal Ataya, Director General of SMD, said: "Sharjah Museums Department manages more than 17 museums in Sharjah and employs around 500 employees. Our partnership with ITQAN highlights our commitment to continually develop and upgrade our internal processes, and by doing so we ensure that SMD provides more efficient and higher quality services for our visitors."

Microsoft Dynamics GP together with Microsoft SharePoint will allow employees to communicate in a paperless, electronic manner. Integrated to all these solutions is an HR and payroll solution developed by ITQAN, known as eKawader. It is compliant with local labor and regulatory laws, allowing SMD to avoid any non-compliancy issues.
