Implementation Guide
Microsoft Dynamics CRM Developer Center and SDK
I have a partially customized CRM on my live server that another company set up for us. I have since customized a default CRM on a virtual machine myself and I want to use this implementation on the live server. Ideally I want to export all my customization and import them into the live server. The only problem is that all the original customizations made are still there and will not be written over, they are just merged.
I would like to get the live system back to a completely default state so I can import all my customizations from scratch. Is there any easy way of doing this. I don't really want to have to hunt through trying to find all the relationships and fields that were added because there are lots. In effect I would like a factory reset without having to re-install. Is this possible?
Create a new organization and import your customizations into this new organization
For what i know if you havent got the default customization xml file then the only solution is or to do it manually or to re-install.
The best way is always keep backups of exported customizations just in case for every changes you make.
But I am not 100% sure about this. You should also get a second opinion on this.
We only have Professional and I believe I can't create multiple organizations in this version.
It's not true. With Professional edition you can create how many organizations you want.
The only differenze is that just one at time can vs in Enabled state.
Hi Maurizio,
Wtih professional you can create a new organization and it will 'dismount' the existing organization as only one org can be live at a time.

Hi.
Same question on Dynamics CRM Online. Obviously we have only one organizaiton and we want to remove all customizations we have done for tests. How to do this?
Regards.
It will depend on how you have customized the system. If you simply customized the default solution, then you will need to manually delete every customization you made. This is why it's a bad idea to customize the default solution.
If you created an unmanaged solution and customized the unmanaged solution, then when you published your changes, all customizations would have been merged into the default solution. So deleting the unmanaged solution will have no effect. You will need to manually delete every customization you made
If you created a solution on your development system and imported it as a managed system into your CRM Online production environment, then you can delete the managed solution and publish all customizations. This will revert your system to the state it was in before you imported your managed solution.
