How do I add a Report to a MSCRM 2011 Dashboard?

This question is answered

Hi,

I am trying to add a CRM custom report using an Iframe on the CRM Dashboard using this tutorial as a guide: (https://community.dynamics.com/product/crm/crmtechnical/b/pabloperalta/archive/2011/10/26/how-to-display-a-report-in-a-dashboard-in-dynamics-crm-2011.aspx).

I cannot un-check the "Restrict cross-frame scripting" security option as it is greyed out.

We are on CRM 2011 on-premise with IFD enabled.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

-Alex

  • Alex,

This checkbox should not be disabled...can you try saving it and then trying to change it?

Are there any other checkboxes on the iframe that you have checked?

    Thanks.

  • Gus,

    Thanks for your reply.

I tried saving it then opening it back up but the"Restrict cross-frame scripting" option remains greyed out.

No other check boxes are checked.

Your response makes me wonder if there is a master system-wide toggle for this option... although I have had no luck finding such a setting...

    Any other suggestions?

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    -Alex

  • There is definitely no global settings for that.

Have you tried adding the report inside a form?

What happens when you leave the checkbox as-is? Does the report execute?

  • I have not tried adding the report to a form.

When I leave the checkbox as-is and display the Dashboard, the iframe displays the message: "Script is disabled. Click Submit to continue."  When I click the button I get a 404 error page or the browser redirects to the CRM start screen.

I wonder... could this be greyed out due to a browser setting?

Also, I read somewhere this option may not be availble on User Dashboards but only on System Dashboards.  I have been working on a User Dashboard.

  • Hi Alex -

Download the following accelerator from the Market Place -  The Dashboard Reporting control for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011.  Install it and follow the examples.  It really works great.

    My best,

    Steven

  • You are right. The option is disabled on user dashboards.

    In system dashboards it's enabled.

  • Have you installed the dashboard reporting control from microsoft dynamics labs?

  • Thanks Steven. That did the trick. Much appreciated.

  • Doe anybody know what happened to the Dashboard Reporting Control? It looks like the solution is no longer available for download.

  • Yes, seems to be gone. It's still on uploaded though:
