Hey Everyone,
So here is my quandry...
I have several hundred contacts who are in a Static Marketing List (we'll call it "A" here), no issues there!!
I also have several hundred contacts in a Dynamic Marketing List based off of a field value (Influencer = value) no issues there either!!
My issue/question is can a new dynamic marketing list be created where a contact is equal to an "Influencer" value of say, "Buyer" and a contact is a member of static marketing list "A"?
Running CRM2011 hosted by MS and my early testing has indicated the answer is "No". Just wondering if anyone else has come across this and/or has an idea on how to handle.
Thanks in advance!
Joe
Yes, it's possible to have a dynamic list using a query that combines field values with membership of a static list. Here's how:
Create a dynamic list.
Click Manage Members.
In the query screen, specify criteria such as:
[Field] = [Value]
Marketing Lists
Marketing List = [Static List]

Hey Neil,
I see what you are saying and have tried that approach. I get some seriously weird results. When I do the initial "Use Query"/"Find" after creating the dynamic list I get the expected # of records. When I save the list and then look at it via the Member List I have duplicate and triplicates of the contacts. I have no idead what is causing that little bad boy to hiccup!! Another odd thing is when I then go off and make the dynamic list a static list, the members are then listed individually.
I tested it again, and I also get duplicate contacts. It's as if the two query criteria are being treated as OR criteria instead of AND criteria as I would have expected.
You could log this as a bug with CRM Online support or post it as a suggestion in Microsoft Connect.
