Exporting Dynamic data to excel worksheet

This question has suggested answer(s)

Hi,

Thank you very much in advance.

I was trying to export dynamic data to Excel worksheets.

The worksheet contains the following

To view and refresh dynamic data, Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook must be installed. If it is already installed and configured, click "Refresh          from CRM"   to sign in to Microsoft Dynamics CRM.  If you do not want to be prompted again to sign in, click "Save my e-mail address and password" on        the Sign In page.

I then installed the Microsoft Dynamics CRM for outlook, and export the dynamic data from outlook, the worksheet still have the same contents "To view and refresh .......",

Then I export the dynamic data via url, the worksheet still have the same contents "To view and refresh.....".

Do you have any idea of what I have done wrong?

I am in a trial period.

  • Hello MLK,

After exporting your Dynamic Data and Opening it in Excel, you need to click the Refersh from CRM button in the Ribbon.   The reason for this is that a Dynamic Export doesn't actually download any data, instead it  saves the connection string information to an Excel File so that you can load the data directly in Excel.

When you click the Refresh from CRM Button it then queries your CRM Server, and retrieve your current data.

  • Thanks.  My trial period is expired.  I remember I did click "Refresh from CRM" button.  It doesn't work.

When I reconnect, I will try again.  Thanks again.
