Hi MS CRM 2011 Community:
We are getting error messages when working CRM 2011 in Outlook. The error window opens each time a Contact or Account filed is updated, saved then closed -- updating CRM 2011 information in MS Explorer works fine -- this occurs when updating CRM 2011 information in Outlook.
The error window reads:
An error has occured in the script on this page.
Error: Object does not support property or method '$2X'
Can anyone explain what this means and/or offer a solution?
I am attaching a PDF screen grab of the error window for reference.
Thank you in advance,

Based on the error and the describition it sounds like you have a Custom Jscript that is executing on update/save. Given the error it sounds like its trying write an incorrect value to a field.
I would verify if you have enabled a JScript on the Account or Contact entity, and if so disable it. After doing this does the error still occur?
Additionaly if you just click Save (without updating anything) does the error still occur? This will help you to determine if its your changes that are causing the error, or on Save Jscript that is causing the problem.
I hope this helps.

Actually, we are getting the same exact error and have been for weeks. We use the hosted version and do not have any custom scripts.
I've just solved a support case with a cleanup of temporary files.
My suggestion is to follow the steps:
1. Close Outlook
2. Clean up the IE cache in:
• Internet Options >Delete...
• Select all options
• Click on Delete
3. Clean up the temp files (use the environment variable %temp%)
4. Exclude all files from the paths:
• %systemDrive%\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files
• %systemDrive%\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\UserData
