I am using Dynamics CRM Online and experiencing problems after the last manual update.

I create a new lead for a new contact in an existing company that already in my accounts and set that company name for that lead in a "Company" field.

When the lead is qualifying i use the option "account already exist" and there I set the same company name.

The new contact from the lead is created but it doesn't have any reference to the account.

If i qualifying the lead without pointing out that this account is already exist then it will create new Account, which will be duplicate to already exist account.

If i try to merge the accounts, the lead contact will be deleted from the merged account!

So actually i have 2 questions:

1. How to create a lead that will automatically synchronize to exist account?

2. How to merge all the duplicate accounts so that the leading contact will be merged and not overwritten?

Thank you in advance,

I've searched online and so far none of the solutions suggested have addressed my issue.

We have CRM 2011 on-premises and for the last few weeks we have been unable to log into it. When we go to the address, we just get an error:

Business Management Error

You are attempting to create a user with a domain logon that does not exist. Select another domain logon and try again.

All suggestions seem to point to the AD Global Catalog, but this all looks OK to me, based on what people have said. The only thing I can think is that I have been logged into a CRM online instance that I'm trying to set up, but this problem isn't just limited to my login or my computer or to one browser, it's also happening to everyone else in our on-premises instance.

User A creates a campaign by specifying the name of the campaign and changing the record status to ‘Send for approval’. On changing the status of the campaign and clicking the ‘Save and Close’ button. By default, the ’Send for approval’ status record is assigned to User B. I have defined the workflow as shown in the fig below:

Fig 1: Workflow –Send for Approval

With the above workflow definition, I am able to achieve the desired functionality.

Now coming to the Query part ,

User B takes the assigned record and has an option to perform any of the following action: Approve, Reject, On-Hold, Suspend.

So When the User B performs any of the above action and clicks the Save button, the record needs to be assigned to User A. The workflow I have defined is as follows:

Fig 2: Work flow for Approval / On-Hold /Rejected status

On changing the status to ‘Approved’ /’On Hold’/’Rejected’ , the record is not assigned to User A

I have added a custom button in ISV. On click of this button, an aspx page opens up. This is working fine when we open the CRM site from web client.

Now we are trying to click on this same custom button from Microsoft Outlook configured with CRM 4.0, and the aspx page does not open up.

The workaround we found was to go back to the browser and open the CRM site and clcik on the custom button, then go back to Outlook and click on this custom button. Now the Aspx page opens up from Outlook.

Can someone suggest me why we see this kind of behavior from Outlook.

Pipelines Phases

I'm having difficulty in setting pipelines phases.
I have been asked to show all related activities for an account (we usually create activities from contacts). I know that if I open an account I can do this by selecting Activities from the left menu item and I will be able to see all related activities from all contacts. The issue is my users want to see all of these activities from the Outlook reading pane, and the Activities left menu item is not available for the reading pane.

I then put a subgrid on the account form for activities, and was happy to see that these subgrids could be seen from the Outlook reading pane, but came to find that subgrids would only show activities directly related to the account (not any created from contacts).

I then created javascript that would change the fetchxml of the subgrid view during the form onload event. This worked good, but the form onload event cannot be called from the Outlook reading pane (no events as far as I could tell).

I then found this article http://blogs.msdn.com/b/crm/archive/2012/04/16/deep-queries-for-subgrids.aspx and it instructs how to do what I need by exporting the unmanaged solution with my account entity and manually edit the customizations.xml file to add the needed link-entity lines to pull in the related activities. I followed the instructions and in the subgrid definition (in the customizations.xml file) I added the 1:N relationship name between the account and contact <RelationshipName>contact_customer_accounts</RelationshipName>, but when I go to the view definition I am not sure what lines I need for the link-entity. I created the following using advanced find.

<link-entity name="activityparty" to="activityid" from="activityid" alias="aa" >
< link-entity name="contact" to="partyid" from="contactid" alias="ab">
< link-entity name="account" to="parentcustomerid" from="accountid" alias="ac">
< /link-entity>
< /link-entity>
< /link-entity>

I need help getting these link-entity lines correct. I need this to return related activities for account that were created directly from an account, or from any associated contacts.

I am attempting to customise my straight out of the box Dynamics CRM.

I need a form that can be scalable to include multiple sub-forms

For example:

The business provides digital signage solutions so I have a new entity called 'Site Info'. I want this entity to store records about what assets are located at each site and how they are related. So,

Player –number, type, serial, purchase date

                         Display(s) – type, serial, connection type (VGA/DVI)

My issue is, each site can contain any number of players and each player can be connected to any number of displays. I can't seem to find any sub-form feature whereby I can add new and multiple entries with a single record.

I hope this request makes sense. Please let me know if I can provide any further information.

Thanks,

REPRO STEPS: (example)

1) create a new account and save

2) from that new account form, add a new contact (which opens a new 'child' form)

3) fill in the contact details and attempt to 'Save and Close'

EXPECTED RESULTS:

1) New contact is saved and associated to new account;

2) User is returned to the Account form and the Contact grid on the Account form refreshes to show that newly associated Contact.

ACTUAL RESULTS:

When clicking 'Save' or 'Save and Close' on the Contact form - the child form freezes and a generic error is shown on the parent form. Once user clicks ok to the error - we get expected results.

OTHER COMMENTS:

1) This error is occurring every time we try to add a new child entity to a new parent entity (e.g. adding contacts to a new account, adding contacts to a new activity, adding activities to a new account, etc.)

2) The message we are getting is:

"Error: An error has occurred. Try this action again. If the problem continues, check the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Community for solutions or contact your organization's Microsoft Dynamics CRM Administrator. Finally, you can contact Microsoft Support."

so, not really too helpful in terms of research options given that it is so generic...

3) The 'Download Log File' button is disabled on this error message, and we see no errors in IIS, etc. so not a lot of other info to work with in terms of troubleshooting.

4) We can repro this issue consistently on some machines but not others. Seems to mostly impact machines running Windows 8 with IE 10 in compatibility mode.

QUESTION:

Was there anything that changed in UR11 that could have broken interaction between parent and child forms - particularly the child grid triggering a refresh on the parent? Any recommended browser settings to look for, troubleshooting suggestions, etc? Thanks! :-)

CANNOT Activate crmlistcomponent.wsp

Hello,

Are you kidding me!? Has anyone else experienced this and found a reasonable resolution?

CRM 2011 for Outlook is crashing Outlook

Have a recurring problem with CRM crashing Outlook when I try to access Contacts or Accounts in the Workplace. I have no problems with other areas of CRM; Settings, Admin, etc. Only with Customers. Have tried unistalling/reinstalling a number of times. Works initially but after a day the crashing begins again.

Label Not Displaying on Form Tab

I have customised an entity form (Leads) using the Form Editor to include some new fields.
I'm having a weird problem where I can't seem to log out of my current user.

Essentially, I can open a clean browser window (deleted temp files, even tried it in privacy mode) and if I browse to our on-premise CRM installation I will automatically get logged in as my user (no prompt).

If I click Sign Out, I get to the Sign-Out page and receive confirmation that I have signed out. However, if I browse back to our CRM home URL I appear to still be logged in, and if I log out and close my browser, opening it up again and browsing to the home URL also loads my dashboard without prompting for credentials.

This is problematic as I'm trying to login as someone else to diagnose an issue.

A possibly related point, here's how authentication works under Chrome/Firefox (RU13).

- Chrome: Username + Password prompt appears but no matter what is entered, it disappears and then pops up again when you confirm.

- Firefox: Logging in works as expected (in the mean time I'm using Firefox when I need to access another account).

Any tips or pointers greatly appreciated.

Best,

if I use an Emailsample to send it via a campaign it is not possible to make any changes in the sample. If I send an Email and introducing an Emailsample I can see the sample in the normal Emailwindow and make any changes before sending the message. This funcionality is not available in campaigns.

I can see why this might be the case with primary CRM tables but what about custom fields which CRM stores in the custom base extension table?

Since these are custom fields, updating them through backend updates appears to be low risk. Obviously the developer is responsible work any plugins, workflows, etc he has created that access the custom field.

But aside from that it seems safe to update these column values through a backend database script. Do you agree or are there other aspects I'm not considering?

Workflow contains an invalid custom activity.

Hi,

I wonder whether it is possible to migrate all data from SugarCRM to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011. Since it turns out that I can export Accounts, Contacts and some other stuff from Sugar into e.g. CSV, this might be ok for import to Dynamics CRM. But a lot of other items arround account history like calls, emails, notes etc... cannot easily be exported from Sugar. Therefore it looks like there is a need to directly connect to the SugarCRM database instead (in my case MySQL) in order to query, map and import the content.

I am not an expert at all to CRM, but from what I surfed arround I figured out that in earlier versions of Dynamics CRM there was a Data Migration Manager which was able to connect to a database. But the new v2011 just has an improved Migration Wizard social.microsoft.com/.../8c9f3525-e543-497d-bed5-7a598a522ac2 which seems to expect source files like CSV.

Long story short, is there any known and officially supported solution for a save import of all data from Sugar CRM to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011? I stumbeled over a software called scribe (www.scribesoft.com/Insight) which claim that they can get this job done... Has anyone any information what's the easiest way to migrate data from Sugar (or any other CRM System) to Dynamics CRM without loosing mainly account/contact history?

We are currently working with CRM 2011 UR 13.

We are facing the issue with reports. We developed some reports using SSRS and used SQL Server filtered views to create reports, the reports working perfectly. However, whenever we create any report through report wizard, it creates the report successfully. However, it does not run and end up with rsprocessingaborted error.

No error messages generated in the vent viewer as well. Basically this is the issue with all Fetch XML reports. Are we missing any specific installation. Since, the other custom SSRS reports are working, so it proves that SRS Data connector is working correctly.

Any help on this is appreciated.

Successfully disable the Process form

Has anyone successfully disabled the new process forms? It is driving me and my clients nuts. We do not use CRM this way. I have created a security role called "UI Process Form". I have assigned this role as the ONLY role that can use this form. None of the users have this security role. I have done this in Leads, contacts, and accounts. I have Switched to classic view.

This new Process form will not go away. Really not happy with Polaris!
