is there an easy way to email an attachment to the Contacts on a Mailing List?
This is a process that will happen many times daily by many system users so the Templates aren't the most appropriate way to go.
Just out of curiosity, which part of using the native templates with attachments does fit your process?

we could use the email template from the Settings > Templates section. This would allow us to set up a template with an attachement that we could then use when using a Quick Campaign or a full Campaign. A few of the problems here are that there are too many clicks for our client to go through, plus it would end up with a lot of templates (which defeats the purpose of templates).
I thought about setting up a Dialog here to abstract the process for the client but there doesn't seem to be any place to add the Mailing List to the email's 'To' field.
So i think i'm going to have to create some custom code to look at the mailing list's members, get their email addresses and then add them to a new email activity.
Have you come across this type of request before? I feel like i'm over-looking something becuase this seems like a fairly simple request.
You're not overlooking anything - templates/send direct mail is the best option out of the box to send emails to multiple users at the same time but as you've found out there are limitations. You could do this with an on-demand workflow but I don't think it would be any less steps.
How to send multiple emails with one click in Dynamics CRM 2011
thanks for the replies Jason. At least it's good that i'm not overlooking something. I will go ahead and write the code to create this functionality. I might just use ODATA to query the List and MemberList set's but the workflow in the link you supplied is interesting as well.
If you use Quick Campaigns, the users would have the option to select a template or hand-write the Email. In both cases you can have attachments.
Does that meet your needs? Are they also sending to a group of contacts that needs to be blind copied or are they sending to a group of contacts from the same company?

thanks for the reply.
As far as i can see the Quick Campaign doesn't allow you to add an attachment unless you use a template, and unfortunately my client feels that there are too many clicks here to send a simple email.
Have we tried using the Email templates. Also with the help of workflows you can send these emails.
You may refer to the link below,
Also we can use SDK for the same.
I hope these links would help.
Thank You !
