I'm working with two Excel files which are extracts from a legacy system. There is a 1:N relationship between records in the two files. I'm moving this data to Dynamics CRM 2011. What would be the best method to import the data into two Dynamics custom entities and establish the 1:N relationship?
You will use the data import wizard
Settings --> System --> Data Management --> Imports
You will need to import the parent data the 1.
Then you can import the child (the many) data and reference the parent data.
In crm you can choose what field you use as a reference, so if say you parent data is account, then you could use account name as the lookup reference in the many data (which could be contacts).
