Sounds weird that WSUS would do something like that automatically.
- You need licenses for that
- You need to do migrations
It's not a quick update with a next next experience!
I haven't experienced this before, hopefully somebody else on the forum has

Updates for CRM 2011 products are available via WSUS. They do not update CRM 4.0 servers and clients though, not sure how you are coming to that conclusion.
If you're not running CRM 2011 internally (or want to control when the updates are applied), then just dont approve the updates.
and further to that, "setup updates" are updates to the setup.exe program that is used to install CRM 2011 products. when you start an installation, you get asked if you want to "check windows update for updates". If you're using an internal WSUS server, and you dont download these, then you wont ever beusing the latest version of the setup.exe..
