New report built through wizard errors

Hi

I need a custom report of customers from our on-line instance of CRM so I set one up using the report wizard, then tried testing it as a user with lesser permissions then me and it errors.

So I logged in as the user with lesser permissions and create the same report through the wizard, get to the end of the wizard and run the report but it still errors.

I have tried a number of things including:

  • Using a view that works for that user as the filter
  • Adding a filter to the report that only selects contacts assigned to the logged in user

Any help would be great!!!

  • If you give this user the System Admin role for a test, does the report still error?

  • No it dosn't which means its obviously a permissions error - Thanks very much.

  • Thanks Jonathon. The best way to troubleshoot this is to use the CRM Platform Tracing. However, since this is online, you would need to create a case to do this. I would recommend comparing the security role permissions between a user that does and does not work. Without the trace files, it would be trial and error to see which permission is missing.
