forums too broad?

  forums too broad? Reply Contact It seems that the topics on the forums are too broad. Was this the intention? We all know that this portal is intended for Microsoft Dyanmics, but currently there are 4 Dynamics product lines. So if someone wants to come in and search information regarding AX, NAV, CRM etc, wouldn't it be pretty tough to navigate through all the different topics? Plus, there are topics on here that deal with Retail, Windows Server, etc that are in no particular grouping?

  Re: forums too broad? Reply Contact Hi Alex, for people like you and I used to sites like the Dynamics User Group it may seem so. But I think that the way this forum is organized is different. It takes more of a business approach, which one can consider as platform independent.   In this way, people can ask business questions, without really worrying about the underlying technology.   Re: forums too broad? Reply Contact We designed the Finance Community to target all Finance Users, not the ones that run specific solutions such as Dynamics AX, NAV, SL, or GP. There are already a number of technical communities (User Group site, ms.com/communities) that focus on the technical aspect and there are numerous blog sites focusing on individual product lines, including David's Dynamics Book site that focuses on Dynamics NAV. There are a lot of business type questions and process improvements as well as Tips and Tricks that go across the individual solutions we provide. We are hopeful that as we continue to grow out our individual communities and introduce network we can foster a healthier community. All that said, if our community users such as the two of you think we need to really focus on individual products, and more specific topics we will certainly take that into consideration and see what we can do.
