Using contract administration to automate billing

I have been recommended to GP contract module for a billing solution.  We provide a service, but charge based on transactions used, so my reseller thought we could adapt the contract module to meet our need.  I would love to hear from others who are using the contract module, especially if you are using the meters.  Right now I am weighing the cost of customizing the GP Contract module, or using some outside billing add on solution.  I am not sure it will work for our company, so am reluctanct to spend the time/money yet.

    Thanks, Pam

Good morning, Pam.  Looks like you've been waiting for a response for a long time.  Here's my two cents.  I'm a developer for Microsoft Dynamics GP who has worked a lot with the Field Service module including contract admin.  Before spending ANY money on this, make sure you partner can provide you with a proof of concept.  Before we move forward on any engagement, we always document the solution with screen shots and show how it will work, not just say it will work.  With a document such as that, you should actually be able to run sample transactions using the test company before any purchase is made.  In other words, don't move forward without some assurance from your vendor as to how it will work, and ease of use.
