    online maps redirect

    Hi!

I'm using NAV 5.0 inside a virtual machine along with Microsoft Virtual PC 2007. When I click the maps icon in order to get the map for a client, for example, maps.msn.co.uk opens up, but I'm quickly redirected to maps.live.com. My problem is that I can't get the same behaviour in my local instalation of NAV 5.0.

I tried two maps configurations (http://maps.msn.com/ and http://mappoint.msn.com/). The only difference I can see is the configuration menu title. In the virtual machine I see "Online map setup" and on the local installation I see "MapPoint setup".

So, how can I get maps displayed in the Live Maps service on my local installation?

    Thanks

    Hi,

First of all - what country version are you running? It could simply be a "localisation" issue gives you as different name for the setup . . .

Secondly - the address has an influence on where you get directed to - e.g. an US or UK address will go to live from the msn address, whereas one from DK or NL goes to the Map Point site - that is something that the local msn site "decides".

Did you get a different result with the same address? - and if yes, please post it and I'll have a look . . .

    /Michael

Thanks for the hint. You were absolutely right. When I change the address to a country like the US, for example, it redirects me to Live Search Maps. If I use a Portuguese address, I get MSN Maps & Directions.

I'm guessing there's no way that I can change that, right?

How about changing the maps service altogether? :)
