    User Identifier - Modification

    Hello,

Is there a way to identify which user created, modified or deleted a record in GP? We have version 10. I would think it can be done based on the login of each user, but I can't find that info anywhere in the manuals.

    Any help is greately appreciated.

    Thank you,

I'll be giving you instructions as I see it in ver9(my current version) then try to convert it in 10.

Go to Tools>Setup>System>Activity Tracking. In Activity Tracking Setup window, change the Activity Type to File Tracking. If everything in the Activity grid was marked for all or even certain users you want to track then you're ok, if not, this is the best time to change the setup.

Now the report to show the activities(creation, modification, deletion) in your system:

Go to Reports>System>General, it'll ask you the GP password. Look for Activity Tracking Detail. Use this to get your report. This is assuming in the Activity grid, your requirements were marked already.

    Goodluck,

If you want detailed tracking, you ned to look at one of the audit tools that are available. MBS has an Audit module, and Rockton Software and FastPath have add-in software, also.

If you are good with SQL, you can create a table to store changes and stamp it with user IDs, but it is tedious to do this for more than a few tables.
