    AX Compliance & SOD

Has anyone done any work related to AX & SOD (Segragation of Duties). Say for eg. a person who has authorization to create a new vendor should NOT have authority to process vendor payments. How to go ahead & enforce such controls in AX? Is there any industry solution available? Compliance, controls , security & SOD is increasingly becoming important in this area. Anyone done any work regarding this?

    Hi Basu,

This requirment is common across many of the implementations in india,  I searched  over net and did not find any solution for this. So i gave a customized solution for this requirment(limited to some module).

    Cheers

    Hi Prakash,

Its not only in India but many international customers also want this feature. Wondering if there is any ISV solution for this.

Hi Krishna, There is a lot of requirement in this area. Will speak to my team and let you know...but this is an inherent requirement and should be a part of base AX. You can get in touch with me at arijit.basu@in.pwc.com

Hi Olay, Thanks for the info . Would you be having any detailed resources on how AX 2009 helps companies manage compliance w.r.t. SOX, SOD, IFRS etc?

    Re: AX Compliance & SOD

I'm a beginner and so far I understand the overall picture, I must say that an analysis for the customers (purchasing any licences) need to be created.

    ·         What will be the estimate time and cost involve to transition to new Microsoft products

    ·         Requirement and HR

    ·         Eventually financial adjustments

    ·         A system (perhaps a software)to evaluated the present cost versus the new cost resulting by using Microsoft, that will be a dream for both parties, it may stimulate further the sales of Microsoft and created less talk..

Basically a step by step need to be assess to get result on a secure financial way and reducing the friction (inevitable) of the transition phase

My experience (short) is that microsoft could be a bit everywhere

Hi Arijit - depends on what kind of resource that you need.

It might help to have your specific question asked here then we can check if there is such information that is partner-ready.

Alternately, you can check support incident MBS9069493 that I responded to when I was with APAC Dynamics AX Support.
