We are now past our initial shocks in converting to Dynamics-SL V7.0 SP1 from V6.5 SP2. Generally, the upgrade went well but we continue to struggle with one overriding issue - slower performance. Just about every screen load now takes at least 20-25% longer than on V6.5 - same hardware, same version SQL - just changing D-SL and moving to Windows Server 2008 terminal services 32 bit. [BTW: we run SQL 2005 64 bit with 16 Gig RAM on Enterprise version of very fast dual quad processors (effectively 8 CPU's) using all available memory, same configuration as V6.5. ]
We've had numerous incidents we've logged with Dynamics-SL tech support (we have unlimited incidents) addressing issues with slow logins (mostly fixed), integrated security (we use it and it works mostly OK), and a memory leak (watch out for the one on AppServer that causes the server to crash).
My question to y'all out there is whether you're seeing the same slower screen loads? What have you found as the root cause? If you're seeing it, are you on integrated security ('single login")?
Has anyone ever run SQL profiler to see what takes so long on a particular screen load? If so, what did you find that might contribute to slower screen loads?
And of course, the big question: what have you found to be effective in reducing screen load times?
Please keep in mind we're not talking about the V7.0 slow login issue here.
We're a very sophisticated shop with on-staff DB admin, network admin, SCAD programmer, etc. so don't be afraid to get technical.
Thanks in advance for your comments.
Best regards,
