    Old Newsgroups vs community.dynamics.com question

Pardon me if this has already been laid out somewhere and I just missed it.

It loos like the "old" newsgroups (http://www.microsoft.com/Businesssolutions/Community/Newsgroups/dgbrowser/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.greatplains&lang=en&cr=US) have different content than the forums on this new community site.  Here are some questions:

    1. Will the old forums eventually go away?
    2. If so
      • will the content from there be migrated here so a search will yeild results from both?
      • At what point in time would the two forums converge?

Yes we are planning on migrating the technical communities onto this platform. This past week we moved all the content for the technical communities over.On the topic of newsgroups we also plan to move those and transition them into forums sometime in the next year. The reason this has not happened yet is the newsgroups are monitored by an automatic system that looks for questions from customers under support contracts. If such a question remains unanswered for 24 hours it is automatically captured by the system and escalated to a support engineer. We need to build this same capability for the forums before we can migrate the newsgroups so that customers eligible for this benefit continue to receive it in the new environment. We are still working through the details of how exaqctly this will be done and therefore do not know yet when it will happen. We will share further details once we know them.
