  [AX4] Items split, holding Inventory Manually Reply Contact Hello, I have few questions regarding Splitting Items, and Inventory Reservation. *Inventory Reservations* *Objective:* Reserve set of inventory items against Possible Sales or any other reason for auction or disposal, thereby making that inventory unavailable for sale & allocation. (in AX i have seen reserving against SO but we need it simplay hold it or reserve). *Splitting Items* *Objective:* We are in trading and we buy and sell mobile phone. We buy Mobile phone as package (in box there is head phones, charger, and accessories) Some times we just remove Charger from Box and keep it as inventory item later to be sold as separate item. (in AX we can join to items using BOM, but how we can split one item in 2 parts to be sold separately) Any Thought?

  Re: [AX4] Items split, holding Inventory Manually Reply Contact Hi As per my knowledge in Axapta both of your requirments cannot be handled in core Ax, however a work around can me created to these requirements My suggestions 1. For inventory reservations, create a new warehouse say reserved stock and move the stock to that warehouse using movment journal, enforce constraints that sales order cannot be made on the reserved stock warehouse. 2. To suggest you on this, i would like to know whether u are using production module? i am avlbl in gtalk and sent an invitation also Rgds KrishnaPrakash

Your mobile phone option requires co-product functionality which AX does not have.  You could look into To Increase's Process Manufacturing/Process Industries customization to see if it meets your needs.

When items should be released to the warehouse you end the quarantine order. /Lennart
