CRM 4.0 and CRM Outlook Client issues

    CRM 4.0 and CRM Outlook Client issues

    Hi everyone,

    we updated a CRM 3.0 to 4.0 last week.

    The update went perfectly good but since then we had trouble with the CRM Outlook Clients. Before the update we uninstalled all Outlook Clients and after the upgrade to 4.0 on the server, we installed the new Outlook Clients.

    Now there are several issues with the clients. Not all of the users have the same problems and some of them don´t have any problems at all.

    There is an unwanted behaviour whilst promoting an EMail from the Outlook Client.

    The EventLog shows a hr=80044150 error "An error occured while promoting a Microsoft CRM e-mail message. Restart Microsoft Outlook and try again."

     Also there pop´s up a generic SQL error, without any useful information in it.

     

    Secondly:

    Some users have a CRM adressbook in their Outlook, some don´t. But all of these existing adressbooks are empty.

     

    Problem with all these issues is: It seems to happen unpredictably and not every user has the same errors while they all have the same security permissions and roles...

     

    Does anyone have any suggestions what might cause this errors?

     The address book one I've seen similar behaviour. If you go to the option settings for the user, there is now an Address Book tab. I have yet to see the option of having just the user's contacts populate the address book work. The only option that appears to work is if the user accepts all contacts into their address book.

    hi and thank you for your reply,

     but im afraid i cant find that adress book tab, should it be in outlook or in crm?

     i definetly did not find it in the crm settings

     

    how about the other issues?

    anyone has expierienced similar problems?

     In the Outlook client, CRM-Options-Address Book tab.

    Hi and thank you,

     

    now the problem is, that all contacts are synchonized into the personal address book of the user, NOT the crm contact address book.

    accounts and leads are replicated correctly.

     unfortunately some users cannot sync data at all.

     

    any other suggestions on this topic?
