Intention of having "ItemCode" in SOP LINE WORK table

    Hi,

what is the intention of having "itemcode" in SOP Line Work table. I have gone through SDK it is saying that,

Item Code: Field similar to UPC Code – is not unique for each item.

But i am not getting exactly what it means. I need the intention of itemcode in SOP Line work and its usage. Please share the information if know.

    Thanks,

    Prabu

Although this a bit old, I think it may still apply...from the Dynamics knowledgebase...

    Question:

I noticed in 6.0 that there is a new Item Code field in the SOP10200 table (Sales Transaction Amounts Work). I would like to know what this field is for.

    Answer:

Currently in 6.0, this field is not used or populated. It is an international field that is going to be used for future expansion. Since the field is a string, it should always be empty or null.

    APPLIES TO

Microsoft Business Solutions–Great Plains Sales Order Processing, when used with:
        Microsoft Business Solutions–Great Plains 7.5
        Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics 7.0
        Microsoft Great Plains eEnterprise 7.0
        Great Plains Dynamics 6.0
        Great Plains eEnterprise 6.0
