    FastPath GP security!

We are implementing Fastpath to manage our GP security and be able to get certain reports as per SOX. Second, We will be turing the audit trail on using FastPath as well.

I would like to know if someone is using the Fastpath with GP and what sort of issue they have interms of user security and system performance of another sort of issue that typically you will have with 3rd party product. your feedback will highly be appericiated. thanks!

    kind regards,

    Mansoor,

As far as I know, this is one product which most of the GP clients use and recommend, with respect to extending the GP's User Security. I don't foresee any issues in terms of performance and security.

But I am not really sure about the Reports as I have not worked on this. You may want to wait till others come up with some information.

    Thanks

     Mansoor,

I haven't seen any performance issues with Fastpath but I always work with clients to minimize transactional auditing since that will generate the most traffic. In terms of reports, since the info is stored in SQL, if the default reports are insufficient, you can generate your own in via Crystal or SSRS.

I've dealt with Fastpath a number of times and I've had nothing but positive experiences with them.

    thanks for the feedback!

i had noticed few things such as copy feature and if you don't do the intialization on the users than it will take the combination of both the old and the new role.

I found the rule of the thumb would be, always perform intialization when you do a minor change or change a user role to something else otherwise there will some unknown issue.

I have been playing with FP now and it appears okay now.

     kind regards,
