    How to measure email campaign effectiveness?

    How are people measuring the effectiveness of their email marketing campaigns? Currently it feels like I'm throwing darts at a dart board, and I'm not that great at darts.

    How are people measuring (per campaign):
    * Total emails sent
    * Messages bounced
    * Viewed message
    * Clicked-thru links
    * Opted out
    * Leads Created

    Anyone?

    Thanks,
    Dale

    * Total emails sent

    You can see the emails who where sent and the errors in the campaign activity that you distributed in a campaign. CRM can either automatically associate campaign response or someone can do it manually by creating a response (from a customer call)

    dshulmistra:
    * Leads Created

    Then the campaign response can be converted into a lead where the campaign as the source for this lead is tracked. You can query for this in advanced find.

    dshulmistra:
    * Viewed message
    * Clicked-thru links

    You could insert hosted images and links into your email activity that have a recipient specific token, so that you can analyse the weblog of these webimages and links to see who read the newsletter or click on links.

    dshulmistra:
    * Opted out

    You should give the recipient the chance to opt out. You could do this also with a link as described before.
