ISSUE: When logging into the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Web Client a user enters their domain credentials on the Logon.aspx page then clicks Sign in.  Users are expecting to see the Dynamics GP log in window, but instead users see “Loading Session Information” continuously and nothing happens.

 

 CAUSE: In the Security tab of the Internet Options window the Internet Security Level for the zone was set to High or there have been Security Settings disabled for the user. 

 

With the Security Level setting at high there are 2 Security Settings that are disabled that need to be enabled in order for the user to get into Web Client. In the Internet Options window click Custom Level, which will bring up the Security Settings window, below are the 2 settings that are disabled:

 

RESOLUTION: There are a few resolutions to address this issue which require edits to the users Internet Options.  When providing these resolutions, make sure the user is selecting the appropriate zone (Internet or Local Intranet) to view/change the security settings.  In my example I’m using the Local Intranet, but the user could be using the Internet zone.

Option 1:

Add the GP website to the list of Trusted Sites.  In Internet Options click the Security Tab and click Trusted Site and then click the Sites button. Enter the GP website and click Add to add the site to the list of Trusted Sites.

Option 2:

Enable the “Active Scripting” and “Run ActiveX Controls and plug-ins” security settings.  In the Internet Options window, click the Security tab, select the appropriate zone and then click Custom Level.  Click to Enable “Active Scripting” and “Run ActiveX Controls and plug-ins”:

  

Option 3:

Set the Security Level for the zone to Medium-High or lower, instead of High.  In the Internet Options window, click the Security tab, select the appropriate zone and then click Custom Level. Once in the Security Settings choose Medium-High to reset the custom settings to and then click the Reset button.

  

NOTE: If the company has a Group Policy Object (GPO) that pushes down internet settings to all domain machines these changes will be overridden with the Internet settings from the GPO. To prevent this, an admin would need to make one of these changes above to the GPO at the domain level which will roll down to the end users workstations.
