Hello,
I am attempting to install FRx on a WS2008 32bit server. I am right clicking on FRxSetup.exe and selecting "Run as administrator." I then select "Install Microsoft FRx." The next window I select "English" for the language and then hit "Next."
The software then goes into the "Preparing Setup - Please waite while the InstallShield Wizard prepares the setup." Before I can get to the next screen I am receiving the following error: "FRx 6.7 Install Wizard: CreateFile failed." Those are the only details and the only option is to click "OK" which closes out the installer. There is nothing in the eventviewer.
Any suggestions on how to resolve?
What media version of FRX 6.7 are you originally attempting to install from?
Windows 2008 is supported with FRX 6.7 SP11

I have the same problem today. Installed successfully on 3 new terminal servers this week, but this last one comes back with this "CreateFile Failed" error. I have used this same install file on multiple workstations and servers. This install is on a Server2008, R2, as where the others. What might cause this error? Did reboot the server, no help there. After clicking to exit the failure dialog box the FRx program hangs and you cannot exit the installation unless you use the Task manager to kill the task.
I tried copying the install files to the local server and logging in as a local administrator and was able to get past the CreateFile failed error message although I have other security issues that are local to our setup of this server.
