Can you launch Fabrikam?

Fabrikam? How to do that? I've seen the login screen of GP client, but it is not allowing me to edit it rather before this possibility it hangs already.

The two SQL database created were Dynamics and TWO in SQL Server 2008 R2. Also, the login screen which is uneditable shows three fields, namely, Server, UserId, and Password. But since it does not allow to enter anything and it hangs quickly how can I proceed further?

Typically if GP is crashing before you can even enter in login information it is a bad path in the Dynamics.set file. Are you pointing any dictionary files to a shared location?

Your assumption seem to be right to me as paths contained in Dynamics.Set file at the end seems beginning with a colon (:), should it be there? Please see my Dynamics.Set file inline as below and let me know if anything wrong in it which is generated by system and never manipulated by myself. Also, I've noticed one thing the dictionary files path for Data folder does not physicall contains *.dic file in data folder which dynamis.set file is referring. I'm amazed why is it so and what does this indicates. Let me know at your earliest.Thx. :-

By default GP will install to the correct location. Your paths appear to be correct. Are you sure the user that you are logged into the computer has Read/Write/Execute permission over the entire GP code folder?

As for as the dictionary files not existing is because by default there are no modified forms or reports for each module. When you modify a window or report a dictionary file will be created which will hold the modification you made.

There is no issue of Read/Write/Execute permissions because the user is administrator of active directory and machine itself is active directory. It seems to be an issue of GP client with Win 2008 R2 Server OS, since I installed with same package on Win 7 (64x) and it succeeded and does not crashes.

Yes, the problem is with incomptability of GP 2010 client with Win 2008 R2 Server, though the GP 2010 Server is running smoothly. I was successfuly by only installing a GP 2010 client on a Win 7 (64-bit) and connecting it to the Win 2008 R2 server on which GP database was installed. I don't know many people were reporting to me that even they were successfully using GP clients on Win 2008 Server. But I didn't have luck for this.

And now you say that AX 2012 is incompatible with GP 2010, I also had AX 2012 on the same machine. You  might be right. But what is issue , is it port conflicts or something else, we don't know until some MS verdict, we get on this.

Hi , I have the same issue with my GP after installing AX 2012 ,if there is any other solution to fix that? without uninstalling the  AX ??

ic, I am still waiting for a solution from this form :)

If I am reading the error message correctly, it says you are running version 11.0.218.0 of Dynamics.exe. My version is 11.0.354.0

Could this be fixed by installing the latest version (service pack)?

Guys this seems a little too complex for the forums. Please create a support case so we can look into your environment further.

As the for the AX issue that is something we are working on. If you create a case we can assist with the workaround as it is not an easy process to simply explain on the forums.
