Exception Details: Microsoft.BusinessFramework.Data.DataSourceLogonFailException: Unable to access datasource

This question is not answered

We have two servers on seperate domains and getting this error trying to ping the SQL database through Business Portal. MBIF Identity is an AD with SQL rights on the database side.

"Exception Details: Microsoft.BusinessFramework.Data.DataSourceLogonFailException: Unable to access datasource"

Any thoughts from the forum?

  • Henry,

Setting up an environment with multiple domains is always a little tricky...  Take a look at this KB to see if it sheds any light:  mbs2.microsoft.com/.../kbdisplay.aspx

Also, I believe BP does require a two-way trust between the domains.

    Thanks

  • Rob - thanks for the response. Have all the requirements set as we see it for the trusted domain. Believe the unable to access datasource is coming from password changes. However, made a decision to remove and reinstalling BP on the one server. Have an AD service setup that while my login allows the BP installation to move to adding the BP user, the AD service account, which does belong to another domain, gives the Invalid User Information error. Have added the AD service account to the local admin group and believe the right WSS groups but any sense of what to look for if the AD service account won't take to get past the first BP install screen.
