Can we get the address of the vendor printed on the check stub?

This question is not answered

Can we get the address of the vendor printed on the check stub? If so, how do I do that?

Thanks,

Justin

  • Hi Justin,

Are you familiar with report writer? The PM Vendor Master table is attached to the Check Format reports - so you should be ale to drag out the Vendor's main address fields.

What check format are you using?

Where on the check stub do you want to see the Vendor Address?

    Best regards,

    Ian.

  • Thanks for the reply.

I am not familiar with GP that much. Definitely not familiar with report writer. If I get instructions, they would need to be step by step. I am asking one of the GP users to they have the answers to your two questions and will report back once I hear from them.

  • Hi Justin,

There is too much in it to give you step by step instructions. I can tell you how to open the report in report writer etc - but there is a lot more to consider such as how your reports dictionary is deployed (is it local or shared) etc. etc.

Adding the Vendor address is easy enough. If you want I can send you a weblink that will allow me dual access to your PC and I can take a look. Adding the fields is a 10 minute job.

PM / Email me if you want me to do it for you.

  • Justin,

I'm with Ian. Report Writer is not intuitive. I know both Ian and I see certain things as easy and quick, and for us it is. Report Writer is easy to grasp, but you really need to educate yourself so that you can do things on your own. There are many step-by-step KB articles for certain tasks, but not everything.

To get a basic understanding of Report Writer, I highly recommend you get your hands on the Training Manual and step through the labs that are included therein.

Personally, I like Report Writer for what it is. You can do far more with it than the average Joe gives it credit for, but I think going through the training manual will help a lot. I am, myself, a trainer, so perhaps I have too much emphasis on training, but the day you spend with the training manual will pay off to you over and over again.

    Kind regards,
