The users get the above error with the email address in question as the filename that is not found when clicking the email link on the customer Internet Information card. They can successfully email statements and other documents and Outlook interfaces with their Home Page without issue. The error happens on 2 workstation (both with Outlook 2010) and one Terminal Server (with Outlook 2003). All other workstations are working fine.
The error you are getting is a little misleading. There are a couple of things you need to know. First, in the Internet Information window, the email addresses for customer are stored at the top of the window. The fields on the bottom are customizable fields, you can set them however you want. These customizable fields can be defined at MDGP>Setup>Company>Company, click the Internet User Defined button. I think what is happening is that one of the bottom fields in the window is defined as "Email" and you put in an email address. If you then click on the email prompt, you receive the message. When you click the prompt, dexterity will do a run application and use whatever program is defined as the default. It doesn't know what to do with an email address so it fails. If you put in a website in that same field, it would open up IE and navigate to the website.
If that is not the case, be more specific about what field and what the contents are of the field and how it works on the machines without these issues. It could also be that you don't have a program associated with the file extension on these two machines.
They are on version 10 and do not have the fields at the top. It works on one workstation and not the others. It also does not work on mine and I have Office outlook as my default.
Never mind. On version 10, you have to enter mailto: and then the address becasue it wants an internet address, yes?
Thanks!
