  • There really isn't any specialized training on Business Analyzer that I'm aware of. It's a VERY straightforward product. The reports in Business Analyzer are build using SQL Server Reporting Services. If you are looking to build Business Analyzer reports, look for training on SSRS. There is a lot of it available including GP specific and generic SSRS classes.

  • The data is coming from SRS reports.  The SRS reports are calculating their results based on what was entered into Dynamics GP.  If the reports are not generating the metrics that your CIO desires, you can create custom SRS reports and view them in the Business Analyzer as well.

    Thanks

  • You could take a look at the Business Analyzer documentation.  That would be a good start.  You can choose "View Documentation" on the media to view it.

  • Hello Mark & Rob & Friends,

I thought so initially, there isn't any specialized training on Business Analyzer.

But our CIO is telling that reports we see on Business Analyzer are not showing correct data/information.

So I want to understand that where is the data come from business Analyzer?

Per my knowledge it is coming from  front end application called Microsoft Dynamics GP.

    Please advice/ help.

    Thanks

  • Hello Rob,

Is that possible Dynamics GP display wrong data if connection string different? (Business Analyzer using SSRS web URL)

Is there any connection settings need to be change into Dynamics GP application? ... I confused.

Because our CIO stating that this year data is totally different then last year.

    Please advice..

    Thanks!

  • When you are using Business Analyzer, Dynamics GP is not being used at all.  The Business Analyzer calls SRS reports, many of which call stored procedures in SQL.  This process doesn't use Dynamics GP business logic at all.  It's hard to comment on why the reports would be totally different without more context.

    Thanks
