Customer Who Upgraded from GP 2010 to GP 2013

This question is answered

Hello,

I have a client who would benefit greatly from upgrading from Dynamics GP 2010 to GP 2013. The client's CFO is hesitant as he does not feel comfortable in using a software package which does not have its first service pack out yet.

By going to pertpetual licensing, my customer would be able to get Fixed Assets without purchasing it for $4000. My client would like a reference of a customer who has upgraded to GP 2013 (from GP 2010) and feels comfortable that the software is working fine and that any issues have been small ones.

My client uses GL, Payables Management, Bank Reconciliation and Integration Manager to bring data (GL and Payables) from another system.

Does anyone have a customer that I could have my client (I would not be talking with the customer) contact to lessen their fears.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

David

  • A hot fix has already been released for GP 2013. Generally service packs are released every 3-6 months. Normally we advise our clients to wait 3 months at least before upgrading. We have not heard anything negative about GP 2013 and we now have two GP 2013 upgrades planned for later this month. I can let you known how it goes.

  • OK, since no one can or is willing to provide a customer request on this I have another question:

Does anyone have a good date for the first service pack on GP 2013.

  • Thanks for the response. Any information that can be provided after your upgrades will be greatly appreciated.

  • David,

I am starting to see a number of posts both in this forum and on partner forums about issues with exporting from SmartList in GP 2013 to Excel. I am not sure if the full extent of the issues is known yet, but if your customer exports from SmartList to Excel often, this might be a reason to delay, or at the very least something to test prior to upgrading them.

  • Our company is in the same position as David's client.  We use the same modules and are asking the same question.  I am joining this thread to keep track of any responses.

    Thanks, Keith McConnell

  • There is a second hotfix scheduled for the week of March 25 for GP2013 and GP2010.   This is mostly for correcting the Federal Form 941 that changes for Q1 of 2013 but will include any other other fixes.

  • please how do i resolve the issue above

  • If I'm not mistaken, product 0 is Dynamics GP and its version 11.00.2044(SP3).  I don't know why it's 2164 on yours.  I believe your database has not been upgraded yet since GP 2013 has failed.  Run GP2010 to check if your database can load.

We just upgraded to GP 2013 last night.  The only problem we have now is the incompatible between Office 2010 and GP2013 Word templates.  The Page number field "script" couldn't run on Word 2010 but it works fine with Word 2013.

  • I had the same problem. You have to apply hotfix for GP2013 KB2799678

  • Thanks for your responce. But i have installed the fixed and it still giving me the error.

  • 11.00.2164 is the latest payroll upgrade for GP 2010.

According to this list it should work. I would contact Microsoft at this point.

  • A quick look at the product list above and I wonder if it is actually failing on the Enhanced Intrastat product (2788) which is showing it to be version 9.0.80.   I have never installed that module\product so I am not sure which version it would have shown on a GP2010 install.
