I opened up the Management Reporter 2012 Configuration Console and found the list under ERP Integrations empty. In the task list there was a note "Unable to connect to the application service to load data mart integrations. Click here to try again." Clicking produces a message box stating "Unable to connect to the Management Reporter application service."
In the deployment log, there was a single line:
6/26/2013 2:59:23 PM - System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[Microsoft.Dynamics.Performance.Deployment.DataProvider.DataMart.Connector.UnexpectedServiceError]: A service error has occurred. Please check your server error logs for details. (Fault Detail is equal to Microsoft.Dynamics.Performance.Deployment.DataProvider.DataMart.Connector.UnexpectedServiceError).
I was able to recover by running the following SQL code on the ManagementReporter database:
DELETE FROM Scheduling.NotificationSettings WHERE EmailSubject = 'Management Reporter 2012 integration errors'
I did some testing with RU4 and did not encounter this issue. So, it appears to be a problem introduced by RU5. (Though, I must admit I've never had MR actually send me an email. A test function in the Configuration Console would certainly be nice to have.)
Here's hoping RU6 fixes this.
I was getting this SAME EXACT THING. And it was preventing all our users from getting in. Running the delete on the one record fixed it.
Email notifications settings completely preventing the use of MR? I'd say that's an enormous bug...
I'm not seeing this problem anymore. So, it looks like it was fixed by CU6 or CU7.
