One report won't generate to SharePoint Library--"Unable to create the related report link" but others will to the same library

This question is answered

I have three SharePoint (2010) libraries I generate reports to in Management Reporter 2012. I haven’t had issues generating reports to any of the libraries for the most part—the Mgmt Reporter service account has Design and the Content Type “Link to a Document” is enabled. However, there is one report that won’t generate to SharePoint, no matter what library I pick, whereas others reports do. Other users get the same error I do when generating the report:

The error is not logged in the Application log on my computer, the server, nor in the Mgmt Reporter logs on my local workstation. Any ideas?

I notice that the two reports that throw this error share a column, and the other reports that generate fine to any of the libraries use different columns. The column seems to be the only difference. Is there some setting in a column that could stop the generation of a link in SharePoint? I am an administrator in Mgmt Reporter and my account has Design on all the libraries.

  • The reports that wouldn't generate to SharePoint had a forbidden character (%) in the title. Once we got rid of that (a Dynamics expert suggested that it might be causing the problem) the report generated.
