Planned to purchase Navision 2013, seller offered SQL Server Standard 2012 Runtime.Which licensing model is possible (Core, Server+Client)?
Planing 2 virtual servers:
1) Navision Server - 4 virtual processors, 16GB RAM
2) SQL Server (for Navision) - 4 virtual processors, 16GB RAM
Planing 35 clients, and will Navision webservices (WebLink).
SQL Runtime is based on Server+Client model. You must to buy CALs minimum as NAV number of users.
Web services do not consume licensed sessionsin NAV and I think, also in SQL (you can connect unlimited web service sessions). However, if you are already connected with maximum users (any mixture of clients), web service connections will fail.
You can find more about SQL Runtime Licensing on Partner Source.
But, if will web services like web shop, which communicate with Navision, it means what web users will use SQL resources, but users count is not predictable.
Thanks a lot. I'm understood situation.
Partner is not competent, so I'm asking here.
