Hi , I use NAV 2009 R2.When Manufacturing policy is set it as MTO in SKU cards, I want to consider available stock also of that items. Is it possible in NAV. Because when manufacturing policy =MTO it will not check available inventory. Thanks for help.!
I looked at your example. Unfortunately, MTS considers just the first level of the BOM and if you have that examples, the everything is OK. If you want to use multilevel BOMs, you have to use MTO. MTO explodes the complete BOM, for each level in the BOM structure where that item's manufacturing policy has also been defined as MTO. This means that if you want to make multilevel production orders in planning, then the manufacturing policy for the parent and components items, must be MTO. It can be used with Lot-for-lot reordering policy, but it can not include inventory.
If you want to use inventory availability on other SKUs, you need to set policy as MTS on other SKUs. If you want it on this same SKU, this is not possible. In this case, better solution is to use policy MTS on all SKUs. If I'm not understand good, please give us better description.
I sent mail to you. thank you.
Hi Thanks for the reply,
Scenario; this is the detail scenario,
I use Dynamics NAV 2009 R2.
Item X --> Item Y -> Item Z
Accept Action Message
Ref. Order Type
Ref. Order No.
Ref. Order Status
If you want any further information please let me know. Thanks again for the help.
Can we customize that option in NAV,
Check the on hand inventory in item when manufacturing policy=MTO. Even for multiple BOM lines.
'Everthing' can be customized, but you need to be very careful with this. You need to test many scenarios.
Because when i use Manufacturing policy=MTO, system will plan multilevel production orders sequentially (level 1 finish only level2 start like that)
My client want that requirement. But it wont happen when its Maf.Policy=MTS,
Client want to check the available inventory when run planning worksheet. that is why i asked to do this this customization.
Another advantage of MTO is when i change the due date in first level item it will re-plan whole lines related to main order. If i use MTS that functionality cannot use. It will re-plan selected line only .
NOTE:- Have you met that kind of situation when implementations. (check the on hand inventory at production planning to multilevel using MTO)
******Thanks for the help******
I try to use NAV standard as much as possible. SometimesI get specific requirements and I made customizations. I like to make new functionality for client specific requirement. If I change the standard, maybe he will want to use standard few years later and I could be in problem. I had similar requirements, but as I said, I made new functionality for it.
Maybe you can try with Order Planning. I don't know all your requirements, but you can try it. Problem maybe is because Order Planning use planning level-by-level.
