Nav4 SP1 is not working on windows 7.

This question is not answered

Hi

Our Nav4 SP1  server is built on windows server 2003 with SP2 & SQL server 2005 Pro. All clients are XP so far. Now when we try to  run Nav client from windows 7, the attached  error is coming which says that odbc driver is not enough version. Tried different ways but no result comes. My queries are

1 Is Nav4 SP1 is compatible for windows 7?

2. If it is compatible, can somebody please provide exact guideline.. For your information, we have less scope/ strong constraint to change/upgrade anything on server side... Please suggest if we can do anything from client side...

  • No, NAV 4.0SP1 is not compatible, you need at least NAV 4.0SP3 with platform update to be able to run NAV on Win.

  • Hello Kine

Thank you for your reply. Sorry for wrong information. It is Nav4 SP3.   Can please tell me what do you mean by 'platform update'? It is Client side or server side? Can you please give me a guide line if we need anything to upgrate on client side. I already informed that there is strong constraint to upgrade on server side...

    Please help.'

  • Platform update is special hotfix published to solve platform problems (was released after SP3 release to make it compatible with windows vista). I think later the install CD for NAV 4.00SP3 available on Microsoft site for download was updated with this hotfix, thus if you download the actual install medium, it should be compatible. But best is to download latest NAV 4.00SP3 hotfix and apply it on the client and on the DB Server (if you are using native DB). Than it will be compatible.
