We are using Business Portal and PDK for time entry. Neither product is checking the balance for accruals, e.g. vacation and sick. How do we set this up so that the user is prompted at time entry if they exceed their accrual balance?
Terry,
What application in Business Portal are you using? Are you using Project Time and Expense or HRM Time and Attendance?
Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob,
We are using Project Time and Expense.
Terry
What Dynamics GP features are you using?
BP Project Time and Expense is used to track time entered against various projects and cost categories. BP HRM Time and Attendance is used to track other types of time like sick and vacation.
Rob,
Sorry for the delayed response - family emergency yesterday.
We are currently installing GP. Our software company, Cogsdale, has us using Project Time and Expense for all time tracking. Sick, vacation, and other paid time off are pay codes and they have cost categories match up equal to pay codes.
I hope this helps. We are still too new to answer some questions in-depth.
Are you hoping that Business Portal Project Time and Expense and PDK will notify your users if they exceed their sick or vacation balances? This funcionality is something provided in payroll or human resources. You can certainly track your time as you are, but the validation you mention is not provided in the project time tracking features.
Yes, we were hoping that the BP time entry would let us know if we exceed vacation or sick balances at time of entry. Do you know if any third-party companies offer this as an add-on.
I'm guessing your options may be limited since BP HRM Time and Attendance likely provides the functionality you want. I would suggest discussing with your partner.
