Only recently, our AR person is unable to save any changes to customer records in Customer Maintenance. As an example:
Pull up a customer using a 6 digit ID, then the customer name is displayed.
We change the customer name and click save at the top of the screen.
If we go to a different customer then back to the previously changed one, the change is undone.
I can successfully change the customer information and the change will stay, but I believe that is due to the Sysadmin credentials.
Could a permission be stopping the changes from being committed?
I just encountered this with SL 2011 SP1. I found there are two triggers on the customer table that appear to be causing this problem. I've not determined the impact on the system of removing those triggers permanently but when I did remove them for testing, I did not have a problem saving changes to the customer name.
Review that you don't have a blank custid in the customer table
No blank custid values in the customer table.
I have looked over our Customer table there are no blank CustID entries.
It sounds like an error might be rolling back the transaction. Have you tried running a SQL Profiler trace?
I have not run a profile yet, but have determined it to be specific customers and not the user.
